Deception Check

1. Tamilda's hand is scrawling an extra line on a sign posted at the bar:
   Do not serve patrons below the following ages:
   • Human, Tiefling, Halfling: 17
   • Orc: 15
   • Elf: 80
   • Gnome: 30
   • Dwarf: 1

Tamilda is adding a new line: "Tabaxi: 15"

From off-panel, Maki is speaking to the bartender: "Barkeep! Two of your finest ales!"

2. View from behind the Tobias, the bartender. Tamilda is whispering to Maki about her plan, but Maki (tabaxi girl) is caught up in her own attempt at deception.

Tobias: "Nice try, kid. You couldn't be more than, what, fifteen? Sixteen? And you're obviously not an orc..."

Tamilda (whispering): "Psst! I changed the sign--"

Maki: "Of course not! I'm... uh..."

3. Maki brightens, having had an idea. Tamilda smacks herself in the forehead - she does not approve of this idea.

Maki: "I'm a dwarf!"

Tobias: "Really."

Maki: "On y mother's side, of course."

4. Maki continues her lie, while Tobias checks the age chart.

Maki: "Just look at the hair on my face! Naturally my beard isn't as full as my mom's, but she loves me anyway."

Tobias: "Mm-hmm..."

5. Tobias goes to a barrel and fills some glasses. Maki winks at Tamilda, who tries to hide her giggle behind her hand.

Tobias: "Sorry, ma'am. I had to check. Enjoy."

6. Maki boastfully gesticulates as she talks. Tamilda sips her drink, looking admiringly(?) at the tabaxi.

Maki: "My dad says I'm a natural actor."

Tamilda: "You were amazing."

Tamilda: "...This tastes terrible."

Maki: "I know! Isn't it great?"
