Last Straw

1. Kayra's mother leaves the bride's dressing room with a calm smile and addresses Sassy, our half-orc maid of honour.

Mother: "Kayra just needs a moment to get ready. Sassy, be a dear and don't let anyone in to disturb her."

Sassy, confidently saluting and ready to do her wedding duties: "You can count on me, ma'am!"

2. Kayra's mother moves off-panel: "Well, I suppose there's a first time for everything."

This sets Sassy off. She clenches her fist. Her eyes bulge. She grits her teeth and turns red. "Grrr..."

3. "Later..." The wedding guests are sitting in rows, waiting for the wedding to begin. People are looking bored. The hag coven are in their human disguises. Granny dismal sits patiently, while Nanny Muk leans back with here eyes closed. Kayra and Singing Cricket hold hands as Singing Cricket leans over to whisper to Kayra. Next to him, Tamilda stifles a laugh as a cat tail (Maki's) tickles her face.

Singing Cricket: "The bard has been riffing on the opening bars of the wedding march for ten minutes. I think something's wrong."

4. Nanny Muk gets up with a grin and heads toward the exit. Everyone looks at her. Tamilda grabs Maki's tail, and a little "Eek!" comes from off-panel.

Nanny Muk: "The poor thing probably has cold feet. A chat with dear old Nanny should set her right."

5. Granny Dismal looks down at where Nanny Muk had been sitting. Now that she's gone, an embarrassed dapper halfling man is revealed. Was he... under her dress?

Tamilda is about to bite Maki's tail, but is interrupted by a loud RRAARGH! from the next room.

6. An unusually flustered - even frightened-looking - Nanny Muk, with cuts on her arms, rushes inside and slams the door.

Nanny Muk: "Who gave the maid of honour a battleaxe?"
